Ring Lights?

Sabine

I have a VZW v325, and am confounded by the ring lights option in the sound menu. When I click "ok" or "change," there are no other options besides "none." Does anyone know of a way to turn on the ring lights? Is this a type of service where I have to pay extra, like, for example, a downloaded wallpaper? A key I am missing?

The user manual is completely unhelpful, and Motorola's over the phone customer support was not so supportive, I just got transferred around and put on hold and finally gave up.

Try a master reset.....there seems to be a glich with the ring lights..You don't have to pay for them..or take it back to the store and have them reflash software.

I think this is a SW version issue. My new one (v.09) HAS 4 or 5 options for Ring Lights.

This has happened to me a couple of times. When I got the phone, it had all the ring light options, then suddenly they'd disappear and all you could select was "none". I have gotten the options to reappear by re-starting the phone. But I can't tell you why that works, if it'll always work, or what the real problem is. Any techie knowledge on this little glitch would be appreciated!

Thank you.

I will try just a power off/on, and if that doesn't work, check my software version- it's so new that I doubt they've released a patch for it yet, if it is a software issue. I haven't seen/heard anything yet.

What do you have to do to get updated software uploaded? Is it the *228-SEND exercise?

And how do you find out about the existence of updates?

Thanks.

To get software updates for your phone, you have to take it to a Verizon store that does that. No charge for the software updates. The *228 updates the preferred roaming list, and will not update the software on the phone. I took my previous Moto phone into the store last week and I had to leave it there for about an hour since they were a bit busy.

I have had this issue, and I'm pretty sure it's related to the usb charger. The only way I was able to fix it was to plug the phone back into the charger, then go back to the ring light options. They should be there now. If this doesn't work, try doing a master reset, then doing a power cycle on the phone

I agree that this is related to the usb charger. I had the same problem with the Ring Lights. I tried a Master Reset, Taking the battery out which did not fix the problem. When I plugged the phone back into the charger I was able to select the different options under the Ring Lights.

I found that if you push the red ON key and immediately close the phone until the start-up sequence is finished THEN open the flip back up and look in the RINGLIGHT options you will find all of the ringlight settings. The PULSE option is really neat at night. If you turn the phone on and keep the flip open the RINGLIGHT options show only NONE.What is really frustrating is that once you turn the phone off you lose the ringlight setting and you have to reset it all over again.I'm using software ver.9 and waiting for ver.10 if thats what it takes to get the bugs out of this otherwise really nice phone.
