Motorola V323 / V325 / V323i / V325i
Questions vzw can't answer
So I spent about 45 minutes on the phone being bounced around with vzw reps the other day and nobody could figure this one out. How much memory does the v325 have, and how do you figure out how much is available? There is nothing anywhere in the "wonderful" new vzw common interface that will reveal that seemingly trivial piece of information.
Also has anyone figured out a way to get pics off the phone or tones onto it? I tried bitpim and it still doesn't recognize the phone. MPT 4.04 does recognize the phone but will only sync the phone book. MPT won't even sync the calendar! I tried changing it manually to v323 and v323m and they still won't read the calendar from the phone. with the 323 the multi-media library shows up but can'...

I can tell you that the phone has 12 megs of memory for sounds and pictures. You can read the memory left in the phone its in the settings menue I believe.

Actually the memory is not displayed anywhere in the vzw menu. I went through all that with the vzw reps and it wasn't there on 325. Other verizon phones apparently will display this but not the 325

Hmm can't seem to get there on a V323
If you go into the media gallery into pictures or sounds then select "view free space" it says 12mb total whether in pictures or sounds or camera. the numbers don't change when switching categories so it must be for all not just that catagory

That was the ticket. Of course it should have intuitively obvious to look under the get it now menu. Now maybe someone should tell the reps at verizon where to find it. Looking around elsewhere, it appears the developers of motorola phone tools had to disable the syncing of the calendar on the v325 because of an issue with the verizon ui. Apparently the verizon ui actually sits on top of the motorola so there are actually 2 calendars on the phone. There are issues with this on both the v325 and razr. If verizon ever gets their head out of their butts maybe this will get fixed.
