Battery Life

I've had the v325 for 4 days now and I really like it. I was somewhat worried when it was taken off the vzw website. However so far I have not had any real problems with it.

The one thing that concerns me is the battery life. I got it on Wednesday and charged it. All the juice was gone by Friday afternoon.

I'd like to think I talk the same amount as the next guy. I do txt a lot and mess around with my ringtones. Yet this still seems a smaller than average battery life to me.

I would appreciate your thoughts, if you'd be so kind...

A lot of times, a takes a charge/discharge cycles for the battery to last a while - on my e815, the first day it wouldn't even last all day, and I barely used it. After a few days of using it and recharging it, it lasted for a 4 hour conversation. :-)

Also, average battery life on a phone is 2 days. Don't you usually leave your phone charging every night?

I see. Well thanks for the info.

No I don't charge the phone every night. I've had a couple people tell me that it's better to let the battery drain completely before charging it.

Is this just a myth?

Previous kinds of batteries needed to be fully drained periodically, but cell phone batteries use a different technology and don't.

Even with the old kind though, you didn't need to fully drain them *every time*, just periodically.

PMFJI,
I have found that with LiIon batteries, it is a VERY good thing to fully charge and discharge the battery about 3-5 cycles when new, and this will improve battery life. I have found that the first few cycles give less talk time than after 5 full cycles. I'm using a SCH-A650 waiting for the V325 and average about 175 to 180 minutes of talk time.
I still fully discharge my batteries about once a month.

I have no standing on whether this helps or not.

But even if it's true, you still don't need to fully discharge your battery *every time*.
