I went to the local Best Buy (Sacramento) and they didn't have it. I went by the local Verizon store, and the dude there said Best Buy is the only place that will sell the phone. The store has only been open for a month, and the people who work there seem to be pretty clueless. In fact, it gets annoying because they seem to know little about what their company sells, or will sell, nor do they seem to know much about what their competitors sell. At any rate, do any of you know if phones purchased at Best Buy are eligable for the new every 2 voucher?

I just talked to somebodya at V over the phone and he said they are an indirect vendor so I can't get the discount with them. Circuit City is a direct vendor, so it would apply with them, but who cares since they don't have the right phone. He said the A970 is listed as coming soon, but he didn't know when Verizon would sell it at their own stores.

It may be soon, that the Verizon stores start selling them. I was in a store tonight and was able to play with a A970 dummy phone.
I have to say that even though it was a dummy phone. It was very cool! The rep said that he was not supposed to show me, but he thought I was cool, so he went and brought it out. He said that if I wanted to get a phone with a wow factor...this would be it.
I really want one bad.
So hopefully this is a sign that they are coming to the stores soon.

I work for indirect, and I can say that we give a better discount than the "new every 2". Just check around locally for all the indirects, which may carry the phone.

Is there a good way to find indirect vendors other than by chancce? I checked verizonwireless.com, but they don't list indirects... just their stores and Circuit City.

I can only say that in my city, when I go to "dexonline.com", type in "verizon wireless", we get all corporate and indirect listings. When you get the #, call them and ask them if they are corporate or indirect.

I purchased a Verizon phone from BestBuy today and I DID get the new every 2; it is written write here on my contract. Even though they are an authorized dealer, all prices and deals are the same as far as the actual call plans and features go. The only thing that may be different is the prices of the actual phones.
As for this A970, I was able to spend about 30 minutes playing with it. I wanted to like it but it wasn't that impressive I'm afraid. The optical zoom is cool as hell! You can actually see the lense sliding in and out for the 2x zoom. Also, it feels very sturdy and will certainly be an eye catcher with the design of the swivle action. Otherwise, this phone didn't WOW me in any other way. For exactly half the price, I b...
