I am trying to decide weather to get the LG VX 8100 now or wait and get the a970. Can annyone help. also does anyone know a deffinate release date?

There is really know reason to start a debate thread about which phone is possibly better then another. The reason I say this is rather simple, all people have various opinions and experiences. I understand it can be helpful for some to hear those various opinions, but honestly it's rather pointless. It's better for you to do research and field test the phones for yourself.

The LG 8100 looks ugly and has voice and reception issues, and Samsung makes a much better phone period. 😎 😎

This nice (although large) phone probably won't have a functioning media player (MP3) either (disabled by Verizon) at least until M.O.D. is available, or you hack it with a Bitpim or similar program.
The 2.0 m.p. camera with an *actual* optical zoom is nice...but at what extra cost? If they keep it within $100 of the 8100 I would probably choose the A970. But then again I probably use the camera in my phone more often than most people.

The a970 is better period. Look at the stats, it pretty beats the LG 8100 in every category, and if it doesn't beat it, it is tied...Samsung makes a better phone and I am excited to see them put a real high end phone for verizon customers (890 was pathetic) I would preorder one of these right now if i could...be patient and wait, you will not regret it!

Do you like the fact that the 970's camera lens is on the side, and you have to turn the phone and swivel the screen to take a picture? How fast can you undo it to answer a call coming in simultaneously?
I think that's a bit much for a cell phone. After all, it's not a camcorder with cellphone features, its a PHONE with camera features!! Here's what I say to the manufacturer... the old KISS method... Keep It Simple Samsung!!! 🤣
