Family guys - around 40,000 kb
regualr movies - around 170,00 kb
longer movies - around 220,000 kb
songs - 3,000 - 6,000 kb

And according to my phones calcutions I still have...

55,906 kb of the phones memory
34,400 kb or the cards memory left.

I will send you some of that stuff.

actually im very interested in this as well. im planning on returining my 256 mb for the 512 card and i do have a card reader already. will 512 be enough for loading up movies onto my phone and if you already have the movie ripped is it easy for me to do it? Hey Jmdizzle, i got a questino for you. TOday im going back to verizon again and im gonna be returning/exchangine my 256 MB memory card. I was thinking about buying the 512 card but in your opinion, do you think i should just buy the 1.0 gig card or just stick w/ the 512 mb card. I can't make up my decisison. Any help would be appreicated. lol.

Well, heres the thing, did you get your mini sd from the verizon store?
If you did I would highly recomend you just try to return it completly and get your money back because they charge waaaaayyyy to much for the cards.

I bought my 1gb card off amazon for like 35 dollars or something like that. Or if you don't want to order off the internet go to best buy or some store like that.

But about getting a bigger card, It just depends on how much you use the phone, I know with the amount of use I give it, I'm glad I bought the 1gb so I can fit just about everything I want on it.

So in my opinion I would get the 1gb you will be happier in the end.

the USB card reader should be able to read the 1.0 gig card right so i shouldn't have to return that right and i just return the card? so you tink at bestbuy, i c an buy one for a lot cheaper? I mean ill be using the card to store, mp3 files, pictuers videos and maybe if i can figure out or somehow get a movie onto it. let me ask you, withough having a card in the phone, how many pictures can the phone hold and does it make a diffference if the file size of the picture is much bigger for ex. i took a big digial picture from my computer put it onto my card and then from my card put it onto my phone? The usb reader will read any size sd so you fine on that. You don't have to return it.

Well, It depends if the verizon store has lowered their prices yet. But I would really suggest saving the %50 and just getting it off of amazon.com
But Best-buy is cheaper than verizon, so yes get it at bestbuy over verizon.

How many pictures the phone can hold all depends on how big the pictures are, and how much detail are in the pictures but my pictures average out to right around 64 kb per picture. But lets just make it 100kb, because my pictures aren't deatailed. Ummm you could fit pretty much almost all the pictures you ever want on the internal memory. Because it comes with about 56,000 kb or so, and only 100 kb per photo. Quite a few.

I just went to Circuit City and bought a 1.0 gig card for $60 which isn't a bad price i dont think. Now, as far as putting movies onto the phone you said that you've got some dvd's already formated to your card? which movies do you have?

Hey i got a question...when i put picuters in the SD card...can i moved them to the internal memory from the SD card?

yes you can once you have picture on your SD card you can move it from the card memory to the phone memory and vise versa. You can even to go Manage Memory and see how much space each picture is taking up.

Probably around 4 movies or so. I have been trying to attach a movie file for about an hour now so i hope it works.

Umm to your question,
You don't really rip mp3's persay, I guess you could but you download them. The programs that I would send you have nothing to do with mp3's.

All you do it download the mp3. Then put it in the mp3 folder. That's all.

jmdizzle, I went to that howard forums link that you sent me, i downloaded all the necessary programs, converted the movie I have 2 fast 2 furiuos to 3ggp and i tried to put the 1st part (i assume to be) on to my flix folder on my 1 gig SD Card but at 1st it said not enough space which can't be right cause i dont' even have a lot of files on it. As of right now, im only using about a little less than half of my total memory! I"m sure that i did something wrong and I got kind of frustrated with it cause i spent like 20 minutes trying to correctly convert everything over to correct format which Is what i dont think i had anything wrong with. Cause when i went to go load up my card in my phone, at 1st, my phone froze which is wierd, and then it...
