Hey everyone. In about 3 months or so July 8th to be exact (yes Im counting down to my upgrade date) im planning on buying the 9800 like everyone else here. there's talk of the new Samsung a-990 camera phone which will be sporting a new 3.2 mega pixel camera and a twisting flip design. I don't know if I am going to be buying it though because Samsung processor speeds have been lacking compared to LG recently and I am after the fully QWERTY keyboard for texting/messaging. Anyhows i know this has been asked before but I just want to make sure I haev my information correct. If you buy the USB cable for the 9800, will Bitpim alow you to transfer free custom ringtones, wallpapers, 3-d games, etc onto your phone because this is what I've heard. Li...

And am i correct when saying that when I buy the usb cable for the 9800 and download bitpim on my computer, i can downlaod these ringtones and wallpapers for free? Can I also use bitpim for compressing videos that are already on my computer, transferring them to my mini sd card and then putting the card into the phone? Another thing here and not to sound like a newbie with this stuff because I do have knowldege of the phones, but does using bitpim mess up the phones software at all or create any trouble using the phone? this is like the only question I have with it other than that I'm fine and i do apprecaite your help again. is it just me or do i notice that the 9800's 1.3 megapixel camera can take clearer shots that the 8100's camera? Has ...

Thanks for the info. So, with the Mini SD card, you can put wallpapers, MP3's, video's and pictures on it?
"For video, you will need software to convert from whatever format the video files are in into 3gp or 3gp2 for the phone. Once you have them in the correct format you can copy and paste to the card (again in the appropriate place)." What type of web site would you download the necessary software needed to compress these videos? I'm just tyring to understand this new information you have given me which is very helpful. For the mp3 ringtones, which programs do you use that are free to download ringers and how many ringers can the phone hold because i believe that its' got an onboard 128 mb of memory.

Yep -- miniSD and a card reader for your computer is all you really need for MP3s, Wallpaper, Pictures and Video (that is in the phones format).

Check out the link I gave you -- it has links to 2 or 3 different software packages that will do the conversions plus step by step's on how to go about it.

With BITPIM you can use any MP3 as a ringtone -- you can use whole songs if you want. You supply the MP3s from wherever you find them -- search the web.

Again, check out the link -- it'll walk you through how to use Bitpim also.

Under software version 1 there was a theoretical limit of 3 MB -- I say theoretical because many exceeded this while others who tried had the phone freeze up.
Under SW version 2 this limit has reportedly be...
