LG V VX-9800
A few 9800 questions
Hello all,
I have a LG VX-9800 I just ordered via verizon's web site.
Just added the V-Pack now, and it's not working.
Get V-Cast video says "Unable to access V CAST Video. Please try again
later. 404
Mobile web says
"Network Unavailable. Retry Later."
Any hints? Is it a bad phone?
Anything it could be in the field programming? Data support just had
me make sure it said apps.myvzw.com and apps2.myvzw.com (I believe -
whatever I read him he said was correct).
Also, how do I change the Voicemail 'code' to include my password? ie
*86,,XXX instead of just *86?

Call *228 and update your roaming capabilities.
When i first got the phone, although i had already activiated my phone. i had to do it the roaming upgrade AGAIN to get VCAST and everything to work correctly.
as for the voice mail password i have no idea, i did not know you could even include your password in the number like that
i always just entered *86 and then pressed #xxxx#

Tech support had me try *228. Didn't work. Turns out it was a problem on the switch.

To change your Voicemail #:
Menu
Messaging
Settings (Left Soft Key)
All Msg
Voice Mail #
enter *86PPP#PP_____
(The P's being a pause entered in by using the right soft key, make sure you use the pause and not the wait. The underline is your 4 digit password)

yeah, we have a lot of old farts that can't ever remember their vm passwords, so we just program their phones this way so they never have to remember. it works pretty slick, they don't have to remember, i don't have to waste my time resetting forgotten passwords. can be done to any phone.

Procedure:
1. Go the to MESSAGING tab (open your vx9800 to do this, it won't be in the front screen's index)
2. Highlight #5 which is "Voicemail"
3. Press the left soft key which is indicated by "Settings"
4. Click #1 which is indicated by "All Msg"
5. Then click #4 which is indicated by "Voice Mail #"
6. It will then bring you to a place where you can enter your voice mail number.
7. After your cell number add a "Pause" indicated by the right soft key.
8. Hightlight and click #2 which is indicated by the word "Pause"
9. After that input the character "#", then input another "Pause" or "P" as it will show, and then your pin number.
10. Press "OK" to SAVE.
Please tell me that that's clear to you. I don't know...
