I am going to europe next month and need a world phone. Does anyone know if tthe VX9800 can be used as a world phone thru Verizon?

no this phone only operates on a CDMA frequency if you want a good world phone go look at the new motorola quad band phone. It will work over there but you will pay a dear price per minute if you make the calls back home. Just you let you know there are only a total of 3 world phones from verizon and the only one that is worth beans is the new motorla i believe its a E840 but im not positive on the model number

Can you not just call Verizon and pay for the service so your phone will work over there or is that just ridiculously expensive?
