Might be old news already, but if not, we just added the 9800. MIN covers pretty much all the basics

I recevied mine today and didn't see anything in the manual about chargng for 24 hours. I tried to activate my phone and received an error. I was told it would take about 24 hours to fix the problem between Verizon's network and my phone. Way to go Verizon!

scroll down and read the section about battery conditioning.

you want to be the first, you pay the price, i am willing to pay it this time... that's the price of being a pioneer. i'll attempt at getting mine activated tomorrow morning... 🙂 S

I read what was posted here. I ran the phone from the AC last night and left it plugged in all night. Will have it plugged into my vehicle today while I am at work.

Post if you run into activation issues. I am thinking that Verizon has a bit of a problem with their configuration database.

That depends on how you tried to activate it. Did you go through the activation IVR or call a Care group directly? Unfortunately when it comes to activating units that require some type of Data pack the majority if not all of them fail b/c the IVR system can not just know what Data pack you want added to the phone. When you say yours failed and should take 24 hours to complete I not sure how/where you may have got that from b/c a failed activation is not something that will just correct itself. It will remain the way it is until someone provisions it correctly. I recommend calling Care and have the answering Rep check your Data pack and or required matching features! Most likely this is the case from how you worded it. For example,..

Thanks for the info. I currently only have the text and pix package added to my plan and there might be a difference between a non-camera package (my VX4500) and a camera package but I don't see how that would cause problems with activation. I was waiting to actually activate the phone before adding on data features.

I am going to try again at lunch to see if they resolved the prob,em. I tried to active via the toll-free automated system, the web site, and via a call to the customer care number. None worked last night.

No joy in Santa Maria today. The technical support folks at Verizon claim that the failure mode of registering my phone to the network may take up to 7 days to correct! I am in a state of shock. As a network administrator I would be fired, or my company would lose a contract if we had a response time like this to a customer.

Verizon's over the air programing is/was down, but if you go into a store, they can manually program the phone for you....

I don't get it....every page(including makind and recieving calls) shows the phone open and using the inner keyboard to make calls...HUH?.......

Does anyone have a link to where you can download the actual user manual? The LG website lists it, but when you try to access it you a "No Data Found!" error message.
