Memory Card/Music Player Issue

So, got the Kingston 1gb card, shows on the phone as only 995mb of space, ok, so there's some loss, I get it, that's to be expected. Currently, it has 796mb used (all music - 166 songs)), 199 free. For some reason, it won't let me load anymore. The PC suite was loading these on last night & after a certain point, when it was loading songs, it would switch from saying "saved" when a song was loaded to saying "failed". I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure I've had more than 166 songs on it before, but I've had this problem in times past, I just didn't really take notice. Since then, I've formatted the card & figured it would go away, but it hasn't.

Any suggestions as to the origin of the problem and/or a solution?

Try pressing update music collection when you go into the music. If you don't do that then it will look like there is space when there really isn't.

I experienced a similar problem on my 6230. Could only download 172 items (songs) to my Kingston 1GB MMC card. Did not matter if I formatted the card with my card reader or through Nokia Suites. Finally added another folder to the card. So, when looking at the files using Windows Explorer---you would see 172 songs and a folder in the card. I then opened the card and downloaded an additional 125 songs to that folder. The music player automatically sees these songs when you refresh the music tracks. Good Luck.

So, I had indeed been formatting the card from the phone, and tried updating my collection, neither of which had worked previously, but I had in fact been putting the music straight to the E: drive, not a folder. Last night, I was able to get all but 272kb ( 😳 )on the card filled with music! Yay to the Max!
