Call Log Miracle

A couple of hours ago, I noticed an amazing change on my 6682. My call logs were NOT erased although my phone had been turned off several times in the last day as I played with getting my e-mail operational. I since powered my phone on/off a few more times to test; call logs still in tact. In addition, it does NOT ask me to reload contacts from the SIM.

I am still using the 64k SIM that came with my phone. I received my phone 3 weeks ago and the call log problem has been present from the first day.

A possible explanation comes from the Nokia rep in the Nokia experience store in NJ who recently told me that the he believes that the call logs for the 6682 reside on the network and are moved to the phone as requested. The documentation do...

No it didn't work for me, and I don't buy what that guy told you because I always carry two phones, and the other has never deleted call logs and this one does. So it's definitely related to this phone, and more specifically, Cingulars software that has issues with the 64k.

Icy,

The call logs are maintained ON THE PHONE, not the network. This problem is either with the phone or software on the phone, the fact that a 32k Sim seems to fix the issues, points to something involving the 64k SIM, be it the reader, firmware....etc...

The one thing I do find odd, is that not always does the phone delete the logs, there are times when I can turn my phone on/off a few times without losing the log, what the difference is in the time that it does delete the logs, I can't put my finger on at the time.....

I am the one who discovered it was a 64k sim issue. I was just pointing out something to the other guy.

Has anyone lost the logs WITHOUT powering off? This happened to me the other day. And, yes, I am sure I didn't power off.

Also, has anyone lost their 1-touch dial settings? This has happened to me twice, but I haven't determined what might have caused it.

Finally, whenever I get a voice message, my phone tells me I have 15 new messages. When I check new messages, there is only the one. I also checked old messages to see if there's something wrong with the vmail server, but there's nothing in the old message box.

apparently the 15 new messages thing is a cingular issue, they are currently upgrading the voicemail system and are experiencing a lot of bugs, that is what my friend told me, who called cingular after getting the same issue (actually he had 21 new messages)
