😲 Well I just got off the phone with our Motorola Rep. Cingular has REJECTED the V-635...They believe the price point is too close to the price the V3 is dropping down to. The A630 will only be available on-line as well. Be on the look out for a V-3 with a removable media card and a new Moto Smart phone but more like the A630.....

Geeeeez.....how many times have we heard this before? A phone is reported to be"cancelled", only to show up 3 months down the road! Who cares if this phone isnt released here in the US? Motorola isnt a "reliable source" for info on their OWN phones! Hell, they cant even produce a phone without bugs, what makes you think that their CS is gonna give us all the "inside scoop" on up and coming models! 🙄

So, thats why Motorola took the V635 off of their USA hellomoto.com website.

Yep. This is true. We got word earlier this week that Cingular is dropping the V635. Kinda sucks...it's a sexy little device, and makes up for the V600 debacle.

What about T-Mobile getting this phone? Please ask. Do you know anyone with the V635? If so, what do they think about it, and if their are any bugs in it?

Not sure about T-Mobile getting it, but if ANY carrier picks it up, this is quite the sexy device.

Basically, it's all the V600 should have been. The camera is nice (8x zoom!), the Bluetooth works well, the EDGE is smoking hot, and when it's not, the GPRS is a nice default.

After the V600, I was skeptical, but this unit is awesome. As far as I know, anyone who has a Cingular SIM can use one on their network, but that may change in the near future.

No real bugs that I could find while working with it, and we tend to work through devices fairly exhaustively. Again, if a carrier launches this device, I'd get it in a second.

Other folks have noted there is a lack of mobile content for this device; you can utilizr anything specifie...

Wait, you said that you have it currently, then you said that if a carrier gets it you would get it in a second. Did you buy an Unlocked/Unbranded version?

I = If I were you, or anyone else. I have one and I love it. I bought it unbranded from tigerdirect.com, using a Cingular SIM in it now. Also have the Nokia 6620, but can't seem to put the Moto down.

I need a plug adapter for the phone now. Where can I find that? I found a T-Mobile branded V635 for sale. Would that be better since I have T-Mobile, or get an Unlocked version?

You don't need a plug adapter. Just go to Wal-MArt or your local T-Mo store. It is the same plug that works with the Moto V300/c650/V600.

NOw using a UK T-Mo phone in the US with a T-Mo US SIM card may or may not work. In theory it should. That is a CS question.

Yeah will work since the phone is Quad-band(850/900/1800/1900MHz). I might buy the T-Mobile Branded V635, but now I need the power adapter so I can plug it in to my wall outlet.

Terry,

If you have a motorola phone charger of any kind from any of your old phones, it will work for this phone. The part of the charger that plugs into the actual phone is the same EVERYWHERE. A motorola is a motorola. The only difference is the other end of the charger; the side that plugs into the wall. If you already have a moto charger from another phone (from the US of course), just use that one and throw out the UK version.

I don't have one. But Very good point, I didn't think of that. So, since I am T-Mobile customer, I should go for the T-Mobile Branded V635 right, instead of the Unlocked/ Unbranded version?

That doesn't sound like a bad way to go, but i'd do a little more research to make sure you won't have any compatibility issues using a phone that's branded for T-Mobile UK. I

Its T-Mobile branded, and its Quad-band. I think all I have to do is change the settings, I hope.
