Motorola V635

Purchasing an Unlocked V635

😕 I'm interested in purchasing this phone but i'm not sure how it all works. I have a phone that I recently purchased a Nokia 6230 from Cingular with a one year contract. If I was to purchase the unlocked version of the phone would it be as simple as switching the sim card to the new phone? Would i have to enter settings for Cingular such as MediaNet? If so, I know Nokia with there support site will allow you to send the MediaNet settings to the their phones. Does Motorola offer something simular or would i have to enter the settings manually. Also, how much support would Cingular be willing to offer? Help Help!

Yes, you would have to enter the settings since the phone comes unlocked at the moment from some online retailers. Just go into the browser settings, I THINK, and go to howardforums.com, and scroll down to the United States Cingular site. There will be a Sticky forum, which gives you the step by step instructions on how to configure your Motorola V635.

Also Cingular reps will give you the settings. I called them and they emailed me all of the mms and media settings. I get on medianet, mms and text works great.
