Don't you love 850 MHz?

Motorola always makes Quad-Band phones, so any carrier can carry it, and it will work. You might have to Unlock the phone, it will be a World phone, so no problem with buying another phone.

I doubt it will be only for Cingular only. I think it will be like the v600, that T-Mobile, Cingular, and other GSM carriers could have it.

I wouldn't be suprised if it was exclusive to Cingular, they put the 850 band on there for a reason, because it's going to be associated with Cingular, considering Cingular uses 800/850, unlike T Mobile and other GSM carriers. But of course, people will be able to buy it from 3rd parties to use with their T Mobile service.

I could really care less though, I wouldn't stoop so low to invest my money into a Motorola.

But I do with that the SE s710a would get released already, this is getting ridiculous.

Actually 800/850 it is not a Cingular exclusive frequency. Its more of a North America exclusive. In canada actually through rogers wireless they use both 1900 and the 850 band and I hear the same applies to Mexico and a couple other countries over here.

I know that, but who in here is concerned what's coming to Canada or Mexico? I surely am not. As far as I'm concerned, people posting here are mainly concerned whether this phone will come to the US, not Canada or Mexico, therefore I leave them out of the picture.

Ok peoples...let's all get on the same page here. No one cares what Mexico or Canada does. Has anyone noticed the T-Mobile version of the V180 only functions on 900/1800/1900? That is just one example. I would imagine this will be a Cingular exclusive much like the RAZR is in the United States (no one cares what you can buy on eBay from Hong Kong or Zing Zang or someone in the US that bought and resold from one of these sources). Honestly we all know that no providers carry exclusives on low-end model Motos, but high-end models are quite capable. Frankly it isn't even up for us to decide; if Cingular pays Moto a fee to secure an exclusive, then that is what it will be. The end.

NO IT WAS NOT!!!

The v600 was originally developed for the US market as an exclusive for AT&T. It was only after a 90 day time period that it was released to Cingular & T-Mobile. Rumor has it that the reason Cingular pulled the v600 was that one day a fairly "high up" executive with Cingular had problems with his v600 & "decreed" that they would no longer carry the phone. To me the excuse that Cingular was having problems with the phone switching bands does not hold water because I am with AT&T & prior to the merger, I had no problems. In addition, I frequently travel to Canada & never have a problem there.

The Cingular branded V600 had problems with the 850Mhz in certain markets.

ATT and Cingular are no one... No need to get snippy... I'm not one for details like that... 12:01 on a saturday is friday night to me...

When a company makes something exclusive, it drives the cost of the phone up. Look at the V3. Had it not been an exclusive, it would have been more cost effective.

The V3 will be launched by T-Mobile in the spring / early summer. They will also be launching the v330 and V188.

I went to a Moto training a few weeks ago and the Moto rep was using a T-Mobile branded V3. =)

the V600 is a phone that i myself had for over 6 months and although it was a great phone it was recalled due to a malfunction with the 850 band. they processed a 90 day doa period and allowed warranty to cover it. all it did was just cause the phone not to hit max power output in a low reception area. i doubt the V635 is going to be a cingular exclusive i work for cingular and although they say if it passes testing it should be on shelves as soon as may or june but is not going to be exclusive to cingular. oh yeah and by the way the V3 is already in phase out they have some new ones on the way is the V3 shell with more features

good... becuase it's stupid for anyone to buy the damn thing. The V551 has more features than the V3. And it's 300 bucks cheaper.... and don't say it's becuase of the thinness....hell all they did was smush it and made it wider. Thats just my opinion. 😎

V3 is getting cheaper because Cingula rhas the Black V3 coming. Guess how much that will run.

Also, V635 will certainly come to Cingular, check out an internal document (guidlines to a contest for store reps):

What does that cingular sales rep contest have to do with the phone being exclusive or not??? All it shows is that Cingular has incentives for there reps to sell the more expensive phones to make a profit, like call companies do. And although it is interesting to know about Cingular incentive programs that they have in conjunction with Motorola it has nothing to do with the general consumer. Just my view on this
