a very close friend who works for samsung tech support said they were being prepped for dealing with technical issues pertaining to this phone and that as far as they have been informed by Verizon, it will make its entrance on the 16th. He said that the wi-fi thing was being kept under fairly tight wraps too...

he could be full of crap, but I'd like to think he wouldn't have given me the specifics he did without some base.

Well, that would be awesome if it came out then with wifi, but I have to wait until July 25th anyway so I can do the new every two and sign a new contract to get it cheaper. Thanks for the info.

So lets say IF this actually was right. How many of us would actually be at the store that day? I know I would be there at the opening!!! 😉

June 16th is not likely. Stores don't get shipments until Thursday or Friday, and the phones aren't released until Monday.

My source, although it has been nearly 3 weeks since I spoke with him, is a data manager for Verizon. He told me mid-June to business sector and beginning of July for retail... so this may be a good thread.

That would be very nice! Did he mention anything about the WiFi capabilities of the device? I'm hearing that it won't have Blackberry connect capabilities as previously thought... Can anyone confirm?
