🙂 just to let everyone know... the i730 is in testing this week in all markets. Good news is that its going to be out within the next 30days. Hands on this thing is awesome. I was going to buy a treo 650 but after I played around with this i had no interest at all in the 650. The really neat feature that I liked was that it carries remote control options to where you can control anything! The downfall, no camera. I asked about that and didnt really get a straight answer. It does have the wi fi for those of you that were'nt sure and it is impressive. Samsung is also releasing a new 2mega pixil camera phone for VZW and it can also record 1 hour of video. Any ?'s feel free to ask

Is it possible to place a phone call using one hand operation like the Treo 650 or like my Blackberry 7250?

Is two versions going to get released, camera and no camera?

What is the retail price as well as 1yr and 2yr agreement price?

From what I understand the Windows Mobile 05 software will allow one handed dialing but it will not be on the phone at launch in order to get this phone out there. Samsung and Verizon do plan on releasing the updated Mobile at a later date.

No solid inof on Camera what soever, short version is do not count on it.

the 2 megapixel camera with 1 hour video will also be as big as the samsung 670..maybe alittle bigger but with no antenna
all of the new samsungs will have no antennas
including the
330..already out
i730..pending and it has bluetooth
i650..i think thats the code..think i600 with enhancements including bluetooth
and the samsung i just mentioned was the sch a970
they have a few more up their sleeve..a successor to the 670..just as small except with speakerphone and no antenna
so basically samsungs points of interest for 2005 will be bluetooth, speaker and no antenna...you'll find 2 of the 3 or more depending on model

If anyone believes this moron that the device will be out in the next 30 you need to go slap yourself now. He more than likely doesn't even work for Verizon.

Even Samsung will attest to that. Don't let this moron try to convince you of anything otherwise.

verizon has all ready said "summer" and samsung backs that up so long as it's not delayed. Summer could be considered anything from May through July, with August being a last resort. I'd be willing to bet a late July/early August release.

But, this moron DOES NOT work for Verizon. And, if he does, Verizon needs to get rid of him because he's just lying to self satisfy his retarded need to feel important.

It won't be out within the next 30 days I'd be willing to bet anything on that. Why? The Treo 650 just came out and it would be dumb of Verizon to put it out and compete with that product because sales of the 650 would obviously decline and it would make it pointless for them to have released it. They'll give it 2 or 3 months easily ...

Our local verizon business rep has backed up what this guy is saying about the 30 day release. According to verizon, it will be out the third or fourth week of June for business or "enterprise" customers.

As for your 2 to 3 months theory... Verizon couldn't care less if people buy the 650 or the Sammy. Either way, they get theirs. The only people who would care if the it comes out 3o days after the 650 (or the next day for that matter) would be treo people. Having two smart phones released around the same time is "smart business" (note Verizon's press release referencing both phones). -People are only going to buy one or the other, regardless.

The one thing you got right, is that the Sammy will kick the Treo's ass. Because of th...

when late July roles around for a release date I'll be sure to bring what you said about "i need to get some good business books" back up. It won't be out in June. So, I'll be sure to bookmark this post and bring it back up.

ALso, whatever sammy says regarding a release date means nothing because their dates (or any manufacturer for the most part) refer to when THEY WILL BE DONE PROVIDING ALL THE UNITS TO THE CARRIER. But that has nothing to do when the carrier decides to release the product.

Motorola is like King of proving that theory right. "Our product will be out so and so". Well, looks like the carriers received the product when Motorola said, but it's still up to the carrier to decide what they want.

Personally, if it comes...

Two words: Anger Management.

Also, I could use the camera option for my work. If Verizon offered both camera/non-camera versions at the initial offering, instead of delaying the camera version until 4th quarter like one posting suggested, Verizon would have my money in their bank collecting interest for 5-6 months longer.

I think this is a silly argument for both camps. Here is why...

Number one I can attest that Verizon has given no one other than Data Teams any kind of release date for these devices. And even then only Management. Trust me when I say no Sales or CS rep has a date or a general release date.

Samsung reps in the know will not even disclose a date. You are talking about companies that make their living controlling information.

That being said, all of the indicators I have say towards end of June. Verizon has been leveraging other things to get ready for the release of a new PPC. Verizon doesn't just do good business they do great business. Every thing is about making money! So you know the company wants a new high tech device...

mk- clearly you havent read the entire thread. d2alio is a punk and is anything but "cool" to people on this forum (note his bashing of "aquaholic8"), so I think a little "I told you so" was well deserved.

I'm looking at the phone right now on Verizon's corporate site for our company.

I'm looking for some feedback from more users before I purchase.
