noob question - can i use this?

I dig this phone and I'd like to buy an unlocked version. But I've got Cingular, what will happen if I use this? Will it only operate in the 1900 MHz bandwidth? Meaning what? Possibly less coverage in certain areas?

Yeah, you might have less coverage in some areas, if those areas are 850MHz enabled. Cingular uses both of the 850 and 1900MHz in certain areas.
