Nokia G400 5G
Nokia G400 TA-1476 Verizon Wireless USB-C Audio
Been wanting to get the unlocked Nokia G400 since it was announced last year. Now available in the US at eBay, BestBuy and Amazon. Obtained from Amazon using 10% discount and Prime free shipping. Got the case at a T-Mobile store, but there are many cheaper online sources if you prefer the ecommerce route.
Everything I read said the G400 would not work with Verizon 5G, but model TA-1476 shows 5G in the status bar. I simply took my SIM from the old phone, inserted it into the TA-1476 (along with a 200GB microSD), turned the phone on then stepped through initial set up.
My biggest issue so far is with authentication apps. For Twilio Authy, I had to request recovery because multi-device use was not enabled on my old phone. With Google Aut...

To connect the G400 to USB on a Windows computer, must use the red USB 3.1 ports, either the USB-C or type A.

Preferred network type not stable, periodically switches to 4G LTE from 5G LTE mode. Found that if 5G not showing will not receive SMS notices, like with 2FA notifications. Toggle Airplane Mode on then off or go to Settings --> Mobile Network --> Preferred network type --> Global.

Have to manually update Data Restore Tool and Google Play Services, for some reason Google Play does not recognize the apps during automatic update checks. Settings --> Apps --> See all apps. Scroll to the desired listing. Tap on it, then tap on App details. If there is an update, then tap on the Update button. Make sure to restart after any app update.

The HMD Global camera app shows not compatible in the app details at play.google.com. No response from the developer, so I obtained the latest version (through sites like APK Mirror). I now check for an update each month, then sideload.
