8100 vcast problems, anything to increase speed
Hey all- just got my 8100 been waiting for!! I had to get it before they stopped carrying it. Unfortunatly I think I got a dud, the vcast buffers at an incredibly slow rate, on a 1 minute clip it typically stoppes and buffers once or twice during the clip. Infact if I play the same clip on mine and my friends phone my has to stop and his blows right through it. I have already updated to towers and all that. Does anyone else know how I can get the thing to move faster?

I had vcast for a short while. I was dissapointed with it in every aspect. You pay 14$ a month for like 8 videos that buffer extremely slow (like yours) and then they expect you to pay 4 dollars to download music videos??? Count me out!

I don't want to defend vcast because I think its a little expensive to, but it has a lot more than it used to. I really don't think its that slow and never thought that, must be your area. I do agree with the $4 per music video thats a little bit ridiculous, but then again I don't see a reason to watch music videos on my phone.

Definitely your area. Just screams along here, with clips taking an average time of 3-4 seconds to buffer and never stopping after that until the end of the clip. I've actually had the 15 surcharge for a year now (since I got one of the first 8100s to hit the market) and while I like being able to catch up on the news while in line at Starbucks or stuck in line someplace or heck, traffic not moving or something... I love the fact that I get unlimited data access due to it. I have my phone setup with bookmarks for traffic flow data and check my route each morning before leaving. Love this little phone 🙂
