8300 Release Date?
Hi,
Has anyone heard when Verizon will release the 8300? The press release said the second quarter of 2006 which could be anywhere from today to June 30th. I called Verizon and they had no information on when it will be released. LG said it is up to Verizon. Anyone know for sure?

well basically have you noticed the price of the 8100, $70 bucks with free stereo headset! The 8300 is ready to go, we just need verizon to blow out of their 8100 stock before we see it, so dependiong on how 8100 sales go will dictate when the 8300 is released. I have heard june as the projected date if the 8100 gets cleared out this month. early june or late june-all falls on 8100 sales.

Isn't the 8300 the exact same model as the 8100, but a different color and enchanced bluetooth? If so, why pay money to "upgrade"?

it is smaller, has better displays, stereo bluetooth support and will allow playlist setups throught he music software. Yes there is not a huge differnece, but i loved my 8100 and i hate my razr so i might get this one depending on how i like the samsung 930 or if the nokia 6265 ever comes out.

Went through 4 bt headsets on the 8100 never worked right yet and now there going to stereo headsets.. Geez , you would think they would first try and prefect first just the one ear .
Technology with BT has a long way to go . I really think if want to waste your money on something that just comes out and not profected go for it .

well i have been using the 8100 since release last year. i have used a few headsets myself and i find the H700 to work perfect for me

i dont want to invest more $$ in a new transflash card, plus i bet 10 bucks they disable the mp3 funcionality& will make people use their dam vcast music crap......

well, tou can get ridof the red bars, two shades of blue, green, silver, grey, and their are a few options for actual menu layout. my understanding is you will also be able to download new ones. It is was pretty nice, glad to see verizon taking a step in this direction.

Well I talked to my Verizon down here (Gainesville, Fl) and the guy said MAYBE 4th quarter of this year. And he didn't sound promising saying that. Good news for me 😛 since I just got the 8100 like 4 months ago on a 2 year plan. The last thing I want to see going into Verizon right after I start a new plan is the successor to my phone! Gotta have the latest and greatest!.....within reason.

The press release announcing the LG 8300 said it is suppose to come out sometime in the 2nd quarter of 2006 not the 4th quarter.

I was just in a Verizon store and the sales rep said it should be out in the 3rd quarter of 2006.

they are stupid, it will be out by the end of june, third quarter is bringing us a samsung with a 3+ megapixel camera and a replacement to the 9800 😲

They might be stupid but that is what their internal web site said when I went into a Verizon store. I persoanlly hope it is the end of June.

internal website my arse!!!! The internal website doesn't give that info. They just looked and didn't see it on the coming soon(which is usually a few weeks out) and then just made something up to send you packing. I am logged onto the all mighty internal website right now, i was checking to see if they had the 930 listed yet.

After all the problems with the 8100, are we all willing to jump to the 8300? What makes you think that the connection, battery and Bluetooth will be any better. Battery and signal have always been an LG problem.

I live on a fringe area and go through phones constanly because i am junky, battery life and signa are not issues. I have had the 710-815-razr-6000-6100-8000-8100 just in the past year and a half. My motos always say two or three bars but drop calls or will not ring in at my house, but my 8000-8100 both work great at 1 bar and never drop calls. Don't know why but i just don't trust the signal meter on motos. My 815 is pretty good but will not work in my kitchen, neither will my razr, but my old 8000 and 8100 did. Another thing i noticed was evdo. When i try to get on mobile web with my 815 or razr it switches to 1x in the middle of connecting, my lg's would hold the signal. I will say my 6100 sucked plain and simple, that phone only lasted a...
