The 8100 ,I like the phone but had to return it three times. Twice for microphone problems and once because the front screen and buttons did not work. I really liked the software on the LG phones they are very easy to navigate through the phone and the quick keys to lock/unlock and put your phone to vibrate at a blink of a eye were really nice and very user friendly .I finally returned the 3rd one because I was on day 15 and would be stuck with a phone that I was having problems with. So I put service back to my old and tired moto 720. A week has passed and I went today and picked up the Moto 815 ,LOL what is everybody ranting and raving about ? The Software on this phone is absolutely the friggin worst ,I could navigate the rain forest in C...

There is a secret menu, just can't access it using "LG's" way of doing it, which is the whole menu six 0 thing you mentioned. However because of your rant that is all opinion based, i'm not going to agree with your stance on things by offering up factual information on how to access the programming menu in moto's. Anyone with half a bit of desire and knowledge would know to check out the forums here, and howardforums.com, or hell even google.

Care to share with the folks at home what phone you decided to go to? Was it back to the 8100 or into something else?

By the way, the way to get into the "secret" menu is by punching in 74663# menu, menu. You have to press that sequence relatively quickly....go to a verizon store with technicans, find one that actually knows what they are doing, and ask about that. And if you took my previous post as me somehow insulting you, I apologize, but realize this. When all is said and done, it's a phone. The whole bluetooth thing, easy menu to navigate etc. to me is pointless. If the phone doesn't live up to your expectations or standards rather, there is always the land line....which from my experience working as a tech most people have forgotten how to use. My favorite was when someone would come in with a phone that had either gotten wet or was in some state of ...

I have been considering for about a month now to get rid of my cell phone completely, I have no peace time with my cell phone ,everyone and anyone can get in touch with me at anytime .The cell phone has taken my quiet time away.I know I can just ignore the incoming phone calls but I don't .I have to share one more opinion that I have, If I get over the fact that in todays society that I need a cell phone and that I cant get rid of it b/c I am self employed . I am also considering dumping verizon .I have had enough of them. My benefit from them is zero .IMHO they haven't had a good phone made in alot of years .Most of you will say I am wrong because you just love your phone but the truth is you live with there crappy phones . You don't really...

Lol I agree with you about the startac, but keep in mind verizon doesn't make phones. Motorola, LG, Audiovox, Samsung, etc do. Also Verizon isn't about the latest and greatest phones, they are about ensuring that the network is the best. And even that is false, as they don't claim to be the best, they claim to be the most reliable. No wireless service is perfect, and I don't think one will ever be. They all have their pro's and con's...look at TMobile for example....they'll give you just about everything for a cheap price...yet good luck getting service with a phone in any area outside of a city. I'm not saying they are bad, just stating that every carrier has it's flaws. Me, personally, I want a phone that will make and recieve a call....bl...

Gents,
Just read your posts back an forth..got to agree with the remarks about Verizon...reliable is the word for the network. And when I have had a problem with a phone I have always had great assistance from Verizon so I am a happy camper.
As to the phones..I agree the StarTac and also the Timeport were great phones as was the LG6000. I upgraded to the LG8100 after trying the Motorola e815. While I liked the Motorola in the past, this one felt, well cheap..so then I tried the 8100. The first one had static and awful feedback. So I swapped it for another one and this one is great..not a problem at all. It is like anything else..you can get a car that has knotty problems from the get go that will drive you nuts...or a microwave or what ha...
