v07 phht Big Deal

Ok Ok before you guys lynch me just hear me out. I know vo7 possibly remedies some of the bugs associated with the phone we all know about, but the main purpose of the update was to install verizons MOD. Assuming we don't know that all you have to do is just enable your mp3 player via the secret menu (because I don't think most people have a clue about that menu), why would anyone opt to get this "update"? Granted you do get the ability to add a play-list and dl music any time, any where but is that really worth $1.99 a song whilst the original mp3 player was totally free. 😳 Am I just being a cheap skate, am I right on or do I actually not have a clue 😕 ?

I think the adding of MOD is just a consequence of getting all the bugs fixed. If you haven't been having the volume, camera delay or echo problem then I guess you're right, what's the point. But as long as getting V07 doesn't hurt, meaning take the ability to use BITPIM or any other data cable use, to get what you want on your phone then why not?
Personally, the camera delay thing I could care less about. However, the echo that people say they hear bothers me and I'm hoping that's something the upgrade can FIX.

i think it's more of a benefit to the people who don't know all the hacks and such. remember that you can still rip all your cd's to wma for free. also it opens up the internal memory to throw a few songs on for the people who don't want to shell out for a memory card. plus you get the playlists and with wma's you can finally see the track name on the front instead of that stupid eq. even assuming you don't know how to enable the mp3 what have you lost? you just have to use a different free format.

You can make playlists with your WMAs..not the MP3s but you can easily convert all your MP3 files to WMA for the purpose and yes you can play WMA's from your mini-sd as long as they werent downloaded from VCast Music to someone else's phone (license issues)

No it's more like having a car with a radio that doesn't work, it's still a Lexus right? When I buy something, I want all of it to work, or as much as possible! Just my thought on that. 😁

Um, yes you can use the mp3 player AND the .wma player 😲
just make sure you put .wma's in the MY_MUSIC folder on your miniSD (for use with the new music player) and
put mp3's in the My_MP3s folder (like v.04) 😎
