Backlight Bizarre on the 8100

So this is very strange..

The backlight timeout settings on the 8100 are very weird..

If you set the backlight to 7 seconds which is the min. That turns out to be the time it takes to go from full bright to dim lighting. Then it takes a long while to turn off. This turn off time apparently can't be adjusted.

Every other phone I have had (Sams950, MOto 815 etc..) Go dark in the time set IE.. 5 Seconds.

The problem with the LG 8100 settings is that this is killing battery life. The front display stays on a real long time after checking the clock or messages for instance.

Don't get me wrong, I was an LG hater and I am really liking this phone very much, I am just figuring out what it is doing ?

Yeahh its the same thing with the keypad and main display backlight. I guess its not that big of deal to verizon coz V07 still has the same issue.

I hope they will eventually fix this later on

I don't think this is something they are going to fix because it doesn't effect the battery THAT badly. But if someone could prove that changing this "problem" would increase the battery life substantially then they might change it. But if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I'm not sure I'm seeing this issue.

I've gone through 5 vx8100's for various issues, and don't have this. It goes at whatever time I tell it too...

Not sure you are seeing it right..

The 7 second setting tells the backlight to go from bright to dim in 7 seconds. It then stays dim for a long time.

This is version 7 not sure what prior versions did.

I am testing talk time for the next day with the setting on always off for front and inside display. This keeps it dim all the time except when it goes out.

This will be a good test.

I was geting 2 Hours and 40-55 mins each day exactly , now we will see
