Username and Password

Okay, I've looked through these threads for a username and password for using the 8100 for a modem.

All I've found are:

1. username = areacodexxxxxxx@vzw3g.com
Password = vzw
Tried that, it goes to verify the username and password then returns this:

Error 691: Access was denied because the username and/or password was invalid on the domain.

2. qnc for both username and password.

Tried that, same error.

Any other suggestions for a username and password?

The way of using your cellphone as a modem has been blocked by VZW via the version 04 upgrade. Your alternatives are to either get VZW's data plan, use your ISP's DUN or get DataPilot and use its built in internet connectivity feature. DataPilot's current version 3.13 works, however I'd be skeptical to upgrade beyond that its bound to be fixed in future updates.

Now that I have DataPilot, I can connect to the internet through my LG VX8100, via Bluetooth, using the username and password "qnc" (same for both un and pw), and connecting to Quick 2 Net (highspeed not available in Utah yet, so I don't know how to make that work).

A couple of pointers that may help, once you have datapilot:

1. Make sure your bluetooth is paired with your computer and is enabled (for some reason, on my phone, sometimes it ...

With the username and PW of qnc.

Try in Phone and modem options.
go to LG modem properties on the "advanced" tab.

add the "extra initialization commands"
at$qcmdr=2

This might work.
