😡 Ooops...sorry so long bear with me.
So I had the wonderful LG VX8000. Loved that phone. It got water on it. Speaker out and it says "car kit" constantly and the message "battery full" pops up when it wants. So since I was unable to upgrade since I just got the dang phone in February (and no I didn't get the insurance because it sucks! All they send you is refurbished CRAPOLA). So my dad has this line on his account that is not being used very often and he lets me upgrade that line to get the VX8100 cheaper than outright price. So I get it and am super excited.....all too soon though. The phone sucks. I am so disappointed. I love the looks of the phone, the flashy lights (yes I'm a girl), flix screen savers. But the camera is ...

I found that having a video as the main screen wallpaper slows the whole phone down. Change it to a simple animated .gif file to speed everything up. As for the camera, it's a cell phone and has a pinhole lens so any picture taken in moderate to low light will turn out poorly, that's just the way it is.

I second that. Its up to YOU to take the picture in bright light.
and if your MP3's arent loud enough, encode them to a higher level.

There is no prob w/ the MP3's. It's the ear piece volume on calls. I guess I was just spoiled with that camera on the on the 8000. And since I take most of my pictures inside, because it's usually of friends and stuff hanging out and I am probably not going to move people outside for the sake of taking abetter pic w/ my camera, it was just dissapointing after all the hype and wait.

If you have a hard time hearing people with the update I would suggest swapping it out. Because mine is extremely loud...most of the time I have it on medium low...very rarely do I have to put it higher

Thats a big thing for me, basically the ear piece volume, even on HIGH its so low. I have to put my wired earpiece in and the volume goes really loud. Hope the update fixed this problem cause im gonna try and get it this week.

There are some 8000's around. Swap the phone, it might be bad. Mine is fine. No problems, although it took me 3 phones to get a good one. The a 970 Samsung should be out in a week or so, but I'm sure VZW will mess that one up too.

The difference between the 8000 and 8100.

1. Pictures on the 8000 is the best out there right now.

2. The sound quality (when you're talking on the phone) on the 8000 is much better. I'm glad for people that have the 8100 and say that the volume is too loud. But I went through 3 8100's and the sound fluctuated on all of them. And to keep on justifying it by saying try another one UNTIL you find one that works is BS.

3. I have the update on the 8100 and I must say that the MP3 player rocks. Much louder than the 8000 even the ringtones are much louder.

4. The battery life for the 8000 is way superior than the 8100. 8000 can go on for 3-4 days w/ heavy usage while the 8100 only lasts 1 1/2 - 2 days at most. And yes, I ...

5. With the 8000 you can view pics, take pics, and take flix w/ the phone closed. The 8100 only allows you to take pics w/ the phone closed.

That made no sense. Both phones allowed me to take pix and flix with phone closed as well as opened.

I went and got the phone changed out today. The pictures seem tons better. Not as good as the 8000 but not as awful as the handset I first got. I wish I could describe how bad it was to give the full effect. lol. People would say I love this camera on this model...I am think you are smockin cr@ck! But now I understand that my handset was very messed up. The volume thing seems better but along w/ nemadrol i notice it still does do the flux thing. Oh well I only got a 1 yr contract on it so if I hate it, i'm sure something wonderful will happen w/in the next 12 months. 🙂 Thanx for all your imputs!!

I have had several Motocrapola's... All sucked, like the kyocera's..

Since the V4 update... My MP3's are extremely loud.. Have to turn the volume down at work.. Since the update, my call volume has been better and more stable... Better than my V710... Bluetooth on the other hand still sucks... Minor static and only about a 5 foot range... My v710 had about a 40 foot range..

Battery life is better with the update too.. Not much, but better... Of all the phones I have had... And all of them have had there issues, the VX8100 is the best...

Sorry, correction, the 8100 does take pix and flix but doesn't allow you to view the pix on the outside screen.
