Email Customer Service Rep Read To Me...

A couple days ago I called *611 and asked the million dollar question "Is the update available in Columbus, OH yet?" The answer she gave me was a bit disturbing considering everything we know now (but when was the last time you got a correct answer from them?).

She read an email to me that said something to the effect of...The LG VX8100 does not have a MP3 player and not to even suggest to a customer that there was a MP3 player on it cause it will never have a MP3 player on it.

I really have no problems with Verizon service or even this phone (I actually like this phone...after the update it will be love) But I am seriously concerned with the things that come from customer service reps. I can completely understand them saying they ...

I usually don't say much but I will reply to this. the RAZR V3 phone will be nothing compared to its EV-DO counterpart, so wait and if you are looking for an mp3 player, do remember the memory constraints on the RAZR.

Agreed... but what can we do? If you're not a cell phone techie and don't read all the bs on here you'd never know anyway... it's just US. we want to know too much too fast too soon... =\

BTW I got the update. It's cool. There are little fixes too

does not display memory 100% full in text messages. with auto delete on(stupid but annoying)

in the ringtones folder the play button is the OK button instead of the left softkey and the ringtones loop when playing

FYI....I've been told by many ppl at *611 and my local stores at various times during my relationship with Verizon that they will call me when an update/new phone etc. is available, and they never have. You may want to call back and check and not sit around waiting for the phone to ring.

Oh no question bout that. I call every store in my area every single day...sometimes a couple times a day. wwhizzard is actually a very good friend of mine so i get him on 3 way and have him talk to the reps cause he has the update already. That way they cant keep telling me it doesnt exsist.

Whatever! How is calling them driving up prices? Isn't that what they are there for? To help customers? Answer phone calls?

They are there to answer legitimate questions. Maybe the line is so long to get help in a store because people like this keep calling and wasting their time.

You clearly have no idea how a business works if this doesn't make sense.

In a normal situation I would agree with you...IF the reps were giving CORRECT information to legitimate questions none of this would even be an issue. BUT because of the inconsistencies I get I do not just take the word of someone who says "There is no such update" when I know for a FACT that there is an update. (and by the way...this isnt the only inconsistency I have had. I had a million problems with my previous phone and got a million and 2 different answers) If you really wanna lower the costs...try hiring people who know what they are talking about or at least training them to know what they are talking about.

Interesting...it is driving up prices for me to call the store...yet it is ok for techs and reps to give incorrect information on a regular basis. Maybe if CORRECT information was given there would be no need to call a store or *611 multiple times. Calling the store several times started as a test...to see if I would get the same information each time. As soon as I realized that I would not be getting the same information each time THAT is when I began calling multiple times.

That rep was not lying. There was a huge notice sent out to everyone regarding that. I'm at an Agent store and we have a big bold notice in InfoCenter that said the LG VX8100 DOES NOT have an MP3 player. Not sure what it's all about.

Cusomer Service quite honestly aren't the brightest of the bunch. If you call 5 different times you'll get 5 different answers. If it's something for software they will have no clue they are pretty much a bunch of mindless meat puppets when it comes to software/phone problems. Next time you want to have a question about the software or even about the phone answered go to one of the local corporate stores or when you dial 611 ask to be transfered to Technical Support. They are the ones who for the most part know about software and how to trouble shoot your phone with you over the phone.
