i have had my VX8100 for about six days now and overall i do like this phone..
however i am having most of the problems listed on this forum..
camera delay, bad camera in dark, earpiece volume changing (altho its only happens a few times)
i dont like not being able to use my midi files as ring tones...
the vx8100 however DOES have some awesome little touches..
such as the outside screen being able to read text messages and missed calls,
the missed call tone,
and the crippled bluetooth..

now here's the question:
should i return this phone while i can and get the VX8000?
so far from what i know..the VX8000 is able to play custom MIDI sounds as ringtones and has a far superior camera.
but lacks the SD slot which i use to save all ...

The 8100 has louder speakers for the ringers. It also has Standalone mode. It is much faster when connecting to the web and VCAST.Obviously smaller and cooler looking. It has the ability to have a light on when taking pics in a dimly lit area with flip open and closed. (just have to start it closed then open it) Thats on top of the flash. And like I have stated on this forum before I owned the 8000 for 3 months and the cam was slightly better but I am not having the probs that I read on hear with my 8100. ie..poor pic quality in dim light, earpiece volume, freeze ups, ringer/vubrate probs, etc.

Although I do agree that the ability to use the midi tones as ringers was great, I feel that that does not justify going backwards and getting the...

The ability to still use the phones "standalone" functions without sending or recieving a woreless signal. For exampl, when u are on a plane and just wanna listen to music on your phone or play a 3d game you can. Or in a hospital area that is sensitive to wireless signals you can still use the phone for date, time, calendar, games, mp3, etc.

most get it now games don't use minutes and the ones that do require airtime will not work in in that mode, 😢 so you can't use it to get around that problem, you can get vcast though and then gin will not use any airtime.

I've tried both. Have had the same complaints about the 8100 that everyone posts here. Alos had the same problems with the 8000, but the 8100 is smaller and better looking. I like the lights. The 8000 looks like a pda phone its so huge!

Holding out for a software update!
