BT HS850 and echo :(

I'm getting complaints about echo from people I'm calling with the 8100. I can't hear any echo, but the person on the other end can hear their voice echo.

I called my phone myself to verify this. If I turn the Headset off, no echo.. on.. echo.

Anyone else having this problem? It's my first foray into BT so maybe I'm doing something wrong.. hopefully!

Thanks!

I got the same complaint. I just turned down the headset. I had it up almost all the way and thats what caused the issue.

I'm using the Scala 500. No echo complaints from the other end or mine. Love it.

had same problem and same solution - i was skeptical about a motorola product also cause i absolutely hate their phones but i must say i am very impressed with the hs850 - it definatly doesnt like to be turned up all the way though. simply turn it down a notch or two and the echo (for the other person) disappears.

Had the motorola headset and had same complaints - have the Jabra now and it all went away... 😁

I had both Motos (820 & 850) and yup, it went away with the Jabra. However, the Jabra added so much *!@#&@ static anywhere beyond 5 ft from the phone that it was unusable for yet another reason. So in the end I concluded that all the BT headsets in the VZW store suck. Luckily there's another 20 or so on the market to try 🙂

I have a feeling static will be a likely problem without BT 1.2 (which is rare on most phones current). The frequency hopping in the 1.2 spec would help immensely since BT uses the 2.4GHz range which is so over crowded. Heck, it's why I only went 5GHz on my cordless at home. However, even with that and *not* using wireless I still got static in the house... both parties were too annoyed for me to keep it. Sounde...
