Dont get the lg vx8100 if u have motorola v710
There is rumors out there saying there is going to be setlement for the people who bough v710.
There are three options:
a)$25 credit for the service.
b) returned v710 for full credit if you have receipt or $200 if not, continue vzw serice and purchase another phone with same price as if was new contract.
c) return v710 for full refund if you have receipt or $200 if not, cancel the service without cancelation fee.
For those of already cancelled service before the settlement, you will get your cancellation fee back.
Eligibility of the settlement is for those of you purchased v710 before 01/01/2005.

This just goes to show you how loyal moto fans are to their phone. The V710 was total junk...the buttons peeled off, bugs galore, the case was subgrade plastic, etc....now it was apparently so bad that Verizon has to cut a check to people that got stuck with one yet the reviews on phone scoop show that phone with almost a 4 out of 5 rating.

I bought a V710 the first day it came out and I just replaced it today. Because I droped in water.
I really haven't had any real problems with the phone.
Lockline, sent me out brand new V710, did a few Seem edits before doing an ESN change. Restored data to the new phone over bluetooth.
I'm happy, and waiting for an E815 in the mail.
Checked out the retail 8100 today, and it wasn't so bad. it looks like they fixed the voice command problem they had in the test model.
I liked the phone, but still think the E815 is a better choice for me, one because it's very hack able, and two I have hella stuff for motorola phones. I got like 6 chargers now!!!
Both phones are great, it would be a hard choice for most poeple.

regardless of the semantics of the issue...the point is that the phone was a real doo-doo.

Never in my 5 years of selling phones have I seen a worse phone. Problems with nearly all we sold. Will never purchase Moto for myself ever again.
