Try this: save a file on you computer(make sure your phone is compatible with the file type) Chop the file down to about 10 seconds. Then attach the file to and email and mail it to your phone (your phone nuber@vzwpix.com) The file will come in as a pix message with a song file attached. save the sound file and you have an instant ringtone. I've been doing it for 2 years with my vx6000. Just thought I'd share the knowledge.

Or if you own a PC you could just buy a data cable on ebay for $5 and use bitpim(or some other comparable software) rather than paying 25 cents per message for a picture. and if you use the data cable, you can have ringtones longer than 10 seconds

try this. take an mp3 up to about 20 seconds and just change the file extension to .mid instead of mp3. attach it to an email like mentioned above and send it to your 10 digit #@vzwpix.com seems to work on most model phones. warning, they take up tons of space on your phone.

There are programs that can cut mp3s. Do a search for mp3 cutting or something to that effect. Hope this helps.

i use a program called cool edit pro. there's lots of other programs out there. they're not just for editing the length of clips, they're for audio editing in general.

You know, I decided to go with the MOTO E815, called in to VZW about all the ringtones I paid for on my VX 6000, they credited my account for $20...

With this info, I have d/l a crapload of songs and still have the $20 credit...

Can't thank you enough!!

i've actually had pretty decent audio quality using the method i mentioned above. i think i remember trying this same method but using verizon pickplace.com a few months ago and had terrible sound quality. but emailing with the .mid file extension from a standard email address seems to work really well.

I actually just leave the file as a .mp3 and the quality is great! I have the E815 and don't notice any quality issues!! I tried the USB cable with my last phone, couldn't get the thing to work for the life of me on my LG VX6000...
