Its time to upgrade my phones, and I want to make sure they are all bluetooth.

I was waiting on the LG8100, but I recently learned of the Motorol 815?

Is there a big difference between the 2 ? All I am looking for is Bluetooth and a Clamshell .. I don't care about much else.

I agree with you, I also have had nothing but troubles with Motorola and they seem to be getting cheaper made all the time, not just phones either. I purchased 2 way radios and have problems with those as well.. They just don't make things like they used to.
I have several other family memembers who have LG and they have wonderful luck with theirs and just love them, so I too am waiting for the 8100..and will wait until it comes out when ever that will finally be.. 😕 😳

I think it will be out fairly soon also. There is no way they have the manual up and the rebates if the phone isn't coming out for a very long time. I still stick to august (back to school) as the latest, but probably before then. People just get frustrated because it says Q2 and it isn't out, or someone says may 24th or june 27 and it's not out. O well.....

I have been chatting with someone who happens to be a manager of a cellular store and he said it popped up on the approved device list as of Friday evening 6/24/05. I hope this means that it will be out soon.. He will let me know if he hears anything..

As soon as it comes up in the system it is out no later than 90 days but usually with 30 days. I don't mind Motorola's i never had luck with the VX 6100 one of my family members has the VX 4500 and hasn't had a problem yet. The biggest problem with Motorola phones is their charging port. I think the VX 8100 has too much memory but thats just me they will both be good phones the E815 will be retailing at $299.99 plus a $50.00 mail in rebate. The choice is yours the best option is to compare both phones on phonescoop.com.

I have definitely been comparing until I am blue in the face..lol.. I have finally decided on the 8100 for sure.. I am very anxious about that one.
I hope it is out really soon.. Saturday 7/2/05 is my birthday so that would make a wonderful BD gift..
We can only hope...lol 😁

I'm personally going with the LG because of build quality. I have the 4500 and its been about a year and a half now and it's still a solid phone. LG's make solid phones, they don't degrade in quality after a long period of time (unless you treat your phones poorly). I really like the functions of the 8000 and I'm hoping that the 8100 will have the same functions plus more.
