To buy, or not to buy

I'm able to get a new phone with New Every 2 as of this Friday. Here's my problem:
I love the 8000...features, and heck, I even like the looks of the bad boy.

Now, the 8100 has Bluetooth and the miniSD slot. It also looks like it'll have a similar form-factor to my vx6000.

I'm not sure what to do. Do I get my 8000 this Friday, or do I wait until Monday to get the 8100?
I know pricing isn't known for the 8100 yet, but does anyone think it'll be similar to the 8000's current pricing?
Finally, if I remember correctly, Verizon allows customers to return a phone for whatever reason, no charge, within 15 days, is that correct?
If so, could I just get the 8000 on Friday, try it out to make sure it's what I want, and if the 8100 happens...

I bought the 8000 in May. Found this forum during my 15-day return period & returned the phone because of all the excitement about the 8100 coming out any day (and because the salesman lied about the activation date and I fell for it, which got me mad.) đŸ‘ŋ Six weeks later, still waiting for the phone 🙄 (or the Moto e815--will probably buy whichever comes 1st.) I have a totally useless OLD phone & am on month-to-month w/Sprint so I'm desperate & trying to be patient.

Don't buy the 8000 thinking you'll be able to get the 8100 on Monday. No one really knows when it will be out.

Well, I'm not in *need* of the 8100. I just figured that if it became available in my 15 day return window, I'd get it. Currently, I have no need or desire for Bluetooth or the miniSD card, but again, if the phone is available and is similar in pricing as the 8000, I'll get it.

it will be more expensive, especially at first. probably significantly more expensive (100-200 bucks).

I would just wait dude. If you're a TRUE phone fanatic you'd wait for the better version of the phone. =). But seriously if I were you I'd wait for the 8100, get it, try it out. If you don't like it (which I doubt) trade it in for the 8000.

Here's my thing, though:
My camera on my current phone is dead. It freezes w/ little multicolored lines on it unless I hit the darned thing on a hard surface...and still it sometimes dosn't work after that.

Also, my battery on my 6000 is going to pot. It goes from a full charge to dead in less than a day...on standby. (I did make one phone call)

So, I'm really needing a new phone. This brings me to my revised question:

Should I go ahead and get the 8000 tomorrow since both rumored release dates of the 8100 (June 27 and July 5) are within the 15 day window. That way, if I do this, I'll get my new phone, and still have the chance to go to the 8100.
Good idea, or bad idea?

I'm not sure that would be a good idea. The only reason I say that is b/c it could be possible that the phone may not be released w/in your 15 day return period... ☚ī¸

Oh, I'm fine with that if it's not released in the 15 days.
While I'm a big tech nerd and want the latest and greatest, I am willing to settle for the 8000 if the 8100 isn't available. The 8100 is simply going to look different and offer a couple features I may or may not use.

Yeah, I myself am thinking it over again also. I mean...will I really use bluetooth? Or will I really need 512 mb or memory? I really like that you can read SMS on the front screen and I it looks like the 8000 screen is bigger than the 8100. So i might just get the 8000 also.

I've decided that's what I'm doing. I'm heading out to get the 8000 in appx. 1 hr. 😁
If, for whatever reason, the 8100 is released within my 15 day window, and even after that, I still plan on going to the store to check it out. If I happen to prefer it over my 8000, I will either get it at the store (if in my return window) or check out ebay.
I'm content with my decision. 😁

Kirk
Will you let us know once you have it whether you are happy with your decision? I'm thinking of doing the same. Also, I'm not a VZ customer so I'm free to go to any carrier. Any suggestions? I already bought/returned the 8000 2 months ago to wait for the 8100 but I'm using an old Startac for personal and a K...
