This is how you can get to the manual

From VZWs home page
1. support -->How to..
2. view manual
3. select LG
4. right click on the link for the LG VX8000 and click copy shortcut
5. paste the short cut in the address line
6. in the address change the address from vx8000 to vx8100
7. click go....there you go

The link is not fake. It simply is a link that VZW has not let the public know about. In a liitle while the link will be available for all to access.

the point of the original post was not to say that the phone was out because he had found the manual online.

He was simply pointing out the link to show that the phone will be out SOON. One guy mentioned somewhere that when the manual is found online the phone is usually out within 10 days. I am not sure if he meant found on the site itself or found by changing the address.

Indeed, that URL is NOT a fake. It is valid and traces directly to Verizon. It is NOT accessible through the public Verizon website. It is a semi-private site hosting news for media professionals and requires registration. Having said that, it gives no indication as to actual release date. Past experience, however indicates that following the release of that information the release of the phone is immanent.

exactly, all this means is those who handle the website added the manual to it but since it's not released yet the link isn't directly available. This means nothing more than that. It doesn't mean the phone is going to be replaced anytime soon it just means that it will be someday

It appears that this manual is legit, but the html document just hasn't been posted to the public site yet, as mentioned above. See the link for the Moto V710 MIM (Manual In Motion) below:

http://www.verizonwireless.com/multimedia/mim/mot_v7 ... »

Notice the '/V710mim.html' extension, which is not present in the link for the 8100 . . . yet.
(No it doesn't work to add it manually).
