I would like to know what everyone is gonna buy. The guys over on the e815 forum are all saying that the e815 will be superior especially in battery like, menuconfigurationa, and reception. What do you guys think of this and which one are you leaning towards when they come out in eight years.

P.S.--Cingular sucks you know what!

I've been having trouble deciding between the two, but I'm really leaning towards the E815. At first I really wanted the VX8100, but now it looks like it'll be the E815.

My reasons are:
Supposedly better reception
Better menus
Slightly smaller size (though a bit heavier)
Looks better than the VX8100
larger contact capability
Possibly better camera (both are 1.3MP but the VX8100 is CMOS which may be worse, but I don't really know)
Has all the features the VX8100 has (except for stereo speakers, and the E815 does have significantly less memory - but I think it may be enough)
Longer video recording capabilities (5min I think, whereas the VX8100 only has 15sec)

There are a few things that may bring me over to the VX8100 - it's got ...

I think I will be getting the LG VX8100 for several reasons:

The new LG user interface, since the vx7000 cannot be matched. Menus are very logically layed out.

The LG has more style/design in it, than the plain looking moto e815.

Also, the LG's for Verizon have performed and sold much better than motorolas since the motorola t720, and the LGvx6000.

If anyone has owned the LG Vx8000, thats reason enough to go with the vx8100. Its an upgrade to the best phone I have ever used for any company.

I do prefer the battery length in the Motorola E815, and the longer video recording time of the Motorola, but its the LG Vx8100 for me.

and ive had four lgs the 4100 6000 7000 8000

Does the E815 have moto's standard on screen menu that can't be removed personally i find that annoying. Also i wonder if like the V710 it will scratch itself everytime you open it which is incredibly stupid if you ask me who wants a phone that abuses itself i'm hard enough on my phones already.

this is just my opinion of course and ive owned
three motorolas and four lg phones i think the lg electronics company makes a much more durable phome,as i am also very hard on my phones!plus two of the motorolas had software problems and had to be taken in which is a major pain. 👿

I think E815 has got a bunch of customizable themes and stuff, if that's what you're talking about.

I'm sure it has a plethora of customizable options i was just talking about the on screen menu which is irremovable. Which to me is annoying because it gets in the way of all your backgrounds. Plus there's the previously stated issue of everytime you open the 710 it scratches itself and i see no changes in construction on the E815

I like the lg 8100 on the reasons that to me the moto's screens are a little washed out hay thats me.

Meanwhile, with all you guys arguing over the 8100 and e815, neither phone might never be released. VZWis great for playing around, testing phones and never releasing them. And they have to be hurting $$$$$$$. They keep advertising on radio and TV meaning sales on phones now must be bad. They are going to squeeze every penny out of what they have now before releasing anything new.

I'm going to look at the 815 and the 8100 but will probably go with the 8100 since I've owned 3 already (4400,4500 and the 8000). The main thing I hate about Motorola phones is that you can't specify how long to keep the keypad lights on. I hate when you have to fumble for buttons in the dark after they shut off. My old Star-tac was like that and so was the V710 that I returned after 1 day.
