headpiece wire shuts off phone?

☹️
I have the e815 and for some reason , the headpiece wire pops out just the slightest bit and cuts off my call. SOmetimes it even shuts down the phone (more so lately!). Does anyone have any idea of what the problem could be or has anyone else had this problem? I really do not want to exchange it because then I 'll have to go through the trouble of downloading all the ringtones again!! Paying for them again and awaiting for Verizon to credit me for the first ones. PLUS, then I'll have to re-enter my phone book again (or pay Verizon $10)

Verizon will transfer your phonebook if the phone has to be replaced under warranty. I think it would be silly of them to not offer to do this for free when it's a warranty issue.

Check to make sure the rubber flap that covers the headset hole isn't getting in the way when you plug the headset in.

tHE RUBBER PIECE definately is getting in the way. I was actually thinking of snipping it off , it's just a pain having it there. Why ,though, would the phone shut off sometimes too when it disconnects?
