What do I need to connect to my PC?

I have seen the Mobile PhoneTools disc plus USB cable, but if All I want is to transfers photos and songs between phone's transflash card and PC do I need the software or merely the cable???? I would just use PC's card reader but card is so small and fragile feeling I'd rather leave it in the phone if possible.

I would suggest BOTH cable and software.
The reason is because I have many clients that come to me for the software.
