Yes, it does.

But OBEX is a protocol that does nothing by itself. It enables Object Exchange, Object Push, Synchronization and File Transfer.

Now, I'll bet you are really confused. What did you want to do with the phone; what other Bluetooth devices did you want to use it with?

Then maybe you can have a Yes / No answer.

I'm not the original poster of this question, but I do have the same question.

My husband just got the E815 through his employer but we cannot figure out how to transfer the pics he's taken to the computer via Bluetooth.

I have a Motorola V551 and can do the File Transfer via OBEX without a problem, but his phone seems to only want to let him connect a Bluetooth headset...

Is this a restriction placed by his employer in some way or do we need to do something to set up the phone?

It does pair/bond with the computer, but the File Transfer is not listed when I check for available services.

Similarly, he cannot use the "Copy" function to copy a picture via Bluetooth to my phone, or vice versa.

Verizon has disabled OBEX on the e815 so you can't use it to transfer pictures because of verizon. The phone actually has the capability, but verizon disabled it.

Since it's there are on the phone, people have figured out how to reenable OBEX, and do file transfers. They had an ok thread over on howard forums on how to do it, but it took me 3-4 hours to find everything and get everything set up on my phone.

Well, that just sucks... So there is no way to get the pics off the phone without hacking it? ☹️

Guess you just take the pics and keep them on the phone forever... Geez, that makes a lot of sense Verizon!

Thanks for the info, Paul. I don't think we'll try the hacking tricks since the phone is issued by my husband's employer and not ours.

Thanks... sounds like Verizon just wants to force you to use their .25/message service and make more money off of you!

We'll go with the cable route and see if that will work.

Like someone else said, you can use "TF card, via USB cable, or pixplace(.25/message) thats it with out hacking".

The most straightforward way is to use the transflash card. It's also the only officially supported way through verizon to get your pictures without paying each time.

You can get them using a cable, but then you have to download a program called bitpim and get it to work, and bitpim isn't a verizon program. And it's often kind of a pain to get it to work (I had to replace some system file to get it to work with my e815).
