My thoughts on the Motorola H500 headset

Thanks go out to Mary424 for the great recommendation.

I got the headset yesterday and the first thing when I opened up the box was "wow this thing is smaller than it looks like in the pictures". It fits easily in a shirt pocket.

I wasn't sure that I would like the fact the earpiece is outside your ear and was worried about it being loud enough. One phone call to voicemail and I was convinced that I would have no trouble hearing anything anyone said.

It's not as heavy as the Jabra is. I drove to work wearing the H500 and it didn't bother me (about an hour drive). It feels like you can wear this thing all day long thanks to the light weight. The H500 also wasn't phased in the least that I had the driver's side window down, it recogn...

Thanks for the info.

Has anyone used the Jabra BT800? I like the idea of just using the headset for everything. I don't know how it compares with size and all that good stuff.

I don't really understand the point of having caller-id on a headset because when I use my headset I keep it on my ear at all times. If I want to see who is calling before I press the button, I take my phone out of my pocket and look. If I took the headset off, looked at it, then tried to put it back on to answer it I probably would miss the call by then. I can see this maybe if you wear your headset on a lanyard or in a shirt pocket, but it seems like the whole point of having it is to have it on your ear ready to use at all times. ?????

How does the 500 compare to the 850? I have the 850 & I'm not crazy about it, I can't get good sound volume out of it. I think the 850 is a little smaller however if the sound quality is better on the 500, I would consider changing. Thank You.

The 500 has much better sound and is a much better fit, a lot lighter and sleeker looking too.

Thank you Mary. One more question, If it's better sound quality & lighter, why is it less expensive than the 850?

I am not even sure of the retail price as it is not available at any stores that I know of. I bought mine from ebay.
