Blocking A Certain Phone Number

Is there a way to block a certain phone number from calling in?

I've had my number for several years. During this time I've have a certain number that keeps calling my number. It belongs to an elderly couple who obviously have it on speed dial for the previous owner. They accidentally call often, so I get voice mail filled up with a very long and boring "eavesdropping" message. I have called and asked them to please remove my number from their speed dial because I am hearing things probably meant to be private. I think maybe they don't understand what I am asking, or just don't know how to do it.

I have scanned the manual but didn't find this feature mentioned. Any ideas about how to block this number?

Thanks

I cant speak onthe other carriers but with Verizon the technology doesnt currently exist for specific number blocking. Thye will tell you that you will have to change YOUR numbe...at a fee of course. 😕

Bummer... I was hoping there might be a setting on the phone for this.

Well, do you have a way of assigning a special ring tone (or none) for that number?

Maybe you could at least ignore the call with a caller ID option... maybe the volume could be set off or to vibrate.

It won't prevent the calls, but as least they won't interrupt you.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I have gotten into the habit of just terminating the call. If I ignore it. I'll have a very long voice mail of them watching TV and talking about their medical problems. 🙂

File suit for harassment. They'll understand that sooner or later.

That _would_ be nice to be able to do. I have a telemarketer that calls w/ automated messages once or twice a week. I cant tell them to take me off the list (or threaten them, since they shouldnt be calling a cell phone to begin with) because its just a message.

Try doing a reverse lookup of their number and see if you can get an address. Then send them a letter.
