You need drivers. Others have experienced the exact same problem. Poke around on Howard Forums (in the VerizonWireless forum) and you'll find a link to a file that will work.

You will have to download the newest version of MPT (just to warn you I had a friend about a month ago that had a older version of MPT from a cingular store that didn’t have this live update feature am getting ready to talk about). Launch your version of the software after you have installed it, cancel the "Phone Setup Wizard" and then the program will ask you to install a phone because it will not operate properly without a phone setup say no.

Then click menu, Setup, Live Update -go through all the hassle Motorola is making you go through (generally lengthy download times and several reboots, just to warn you).
