There is NO wi-fi on the Verizon version of the Treo. Verizon's first wi-fi/EV-DO (high speed network) phone will be the Samsung I730.

Thanks for the reply. I was more referring to using a Wifi card with the Treo along with a software fix that someone came up with. Someone also posted information about a third party device called a "sled" that can provide wifi for the 650.

It is possible to use your 650 with wifi, it requires a "sled" which costs 150 bones, but in retrospect, an SDIO card is about 100, it wont have the range that this beast does, and it wont require you to use so-called SDIO drivers, as I have heard, if it is not done properly, a hard reset is the only thing that is going to fix the problem, and your treo may still appear to be posessed. Treocentral.com sells the sled, here is a link.

Treocentral is probably going to be one of your most valuable resources for questions such as the one you asked here, not only do they have a store that is dedicated to products solely for the treo devices, you will probably find better answer...

negate my pervious post, i am now disappointed to find that the sled i mentioned is for the treo 600, which has a different connecter on the bottom than the 650, not to mention a slightly different shape.

I am amazed at the amount of loops that a cell phone must do for users these days...It's a telephone with an organizer built into it...That's it!
What's up with all these WiFi stuff?
All these needs and yet the Treo650 drops more calls than a fumbling football player (in a VZW calling area)...More attention should be placed on utilizing the phone...Surfing the net at home on a cell phone...Someone has too much time on their hands! 🙄

The whole idea is to make a single device do more for you, thus freeing up more time. For you, it sounds like a cell phone that makes calls and stores phone numbers is great. For others, being able to organize email, calendar, contacts, internet access, wifi access, the ability to sync on the road, etc., into one device will save them time which equals money.

Others just like to have cool gadgets. 😁

Plus I do more on my computer than play freecell.
I like to make my devices do all that they can do!
