Background information: I am on board sprints TechTeam in an undisclosed location in the U.S. 😉 What my Department does is 95% of the testing on all of the phones released. We work very closely with the FCC and internal support. This phone has gotten more attention on the Sprint network then anyother phone in the past, thats why I am posting this info. Usually we all just sit back and laugh at the "My cousins uncle's nefew is a sprint employee and he said this" type of threads.

FCC:
- No, this phone has bot been approved yet by the FCC. We are pushing very hard to get it approved THIS MONTH. We had several R/F and wattage issues that we had to work out. The power that phone was requiring was actually decreasing wattage low...

Thanks Amped01 for giving us this information on this phone. Sounds like it is gonna be the best Sanyo yet. I just bought a Sanyo MM-7400 yesterday and I love it. Too bad I couldn't wait for the 5600, but I had to get a new phone now. I hear that the 5600 is gonna be $399.
Please feel free to give updates as you get them for this phone. Your input is greatly appreciated!

How can you know the date it will be in the warehouse yet it isn't approved by the FCC? If your pushing for their approval then that tells me you don't know when they will approve it...if thats true then how do you know when it will be in the warehouse? Not trying to be difficult, just curious. 😛

Also, what is EVDO?

Thanks a lot for all the "Insider Info"!

Any information on the Samsung A800 or the i730 Pocket PC? Also do you know if either of those will be EVDO or if there are even any phones on the horizon that have that technology.

Thanks,

Aaron

I too work for Sprint Corporate, however I do not have the much desired job title of 'device tester' ☚ī¸ However, in my dept we need to be appraised of new devices, and I recently was fwded an email in regards to the 4600/5600. Very nice phone. Pretty much everything you need to know is in the article above. The release date, like many things, isn't set in stone. The email states the release date, but I won't believe it until I see it actually released. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be long now (
