bluetooth and Sony headset

Just posted this as review - any comments?

I like the D500, except for the BT - will not work correctly with my sony BT h/s (headset). dosen't have auto-answer and if not already connected, will ask on phone if it should connect - not exactly handsfree (legal requirement in UK cars) - my old T68i had auto-connect.
If connected before call, will ring in h/s and button on h/s will answer call, but then need to hang up with phone - again not handsfree.
Once you've done that, the phone appears to loose contact with h/s, but won't let you disconnect and will not connect again (fails both ways). Requires you turn D500 off to clear this.

I have the Motorola HF800 BT car kit and the HS8100 BT headset. I leave one or other connected and can accept/drop calls with a button on the hands-free device. I don't have the BT contact loss problem you describe.
I'll experiment with the autoanswer and get back.

Tried your multiple call test and it works ok with my Moto headset and car kit. The car kit (nice although not too loud) connects right away if on, but also works if off and turned on when call received. No probs, dump your Sony h/s.

Damn - I tried a friends Moto h/s yest and it didn't work - tried my sony h/s with his v3 and it worked fine
so exchanged my D500 for a V3 and a new moto HS850 - had to pay additional 120 GBP for the V3 😢

Samsung support by email came back last night and said ring CS on a national call rate number, I rang them this morning, kept waiting 10 mins and then CS couldn't help. I gave them ubtil midday to get TS to ring. They didn't so I exchanged it. TS rang about 15:00 in responce to my email, hadn't got the handover from CS. TS said they knew about the problems and passed on to head office, but nothing happening yet.

Oh and I have to say, the Samsung mani]ual is far better than the moto one.

Yhanks for your posting - wish I'd looked here before changing phones.

Blast - using my Son's D500 and the Moto headset, I've figured out what the problem was.
1) you have to authorise the headset to control the phone - my experiance of pairing didn't require authorising as well - don't need to do that on the Moto V3.

2) the sony headset appears to be trying to tell the D500 to redial last number of something, this may be because the same button is used to turn it on/off as answer calls.

All functions work using the Moto HS850 h/s.
I much prefer the D500, I'll see if I can do a swop back again 😕

I don't remember doing that, but well done, this will help others. Now take the Moto back and tell them that the camera is rubbish and you want your D500 back 😉
