Can't Find North American Tri-Band

Hi all,

All of the 9300s that I find for sale on the internet (including eBay) are the Euro tri-band (i.e., 900 MHz instead of 800/850). Is the 800/850 MHz phone actually available? If not, that may explain why no US carriers have picked it up.

Its not available yet, still in testing mode. Will be soon for Cingular

Where did you get this information?

NokiaUSA.com still claims that there will only be 900 version available in US.

No 850 version anywhere on Nokia web site!

Nokia actually doesn't make any claim about frequencies one way or another. They do say that the phone will be released in the US shortly and they list the specs of the current European model on their web site.

However, when I e-mailed and asked them about new frequencies for North America, their response, in a nutshell, was "we cannot comment on any differences from the Euro version that is listed on our web site, but we're not ignorant of the differences in frequencies in North America." (my words, but their strongly implied meaning).

Based on their response, I strongly believe we'll see the 850/1800/1900 version announced by Cingular before too much longer.

Now I still don't understand why they would not come out and say that...
