Hi all,

As you can tell, I'm new to this. I'm planning to buy the a780 soon, but before I do that, I need to find out how to actually use it with cingular and/or t-mobile. But beyond that, how do I actually get the minutes to use on my phone with either of these services? The t-mobile person gave me some info about the pre-paid option; the cingular guy mentioned it and pretty much hung up on me (after thoroughly discouraging me about the phone, of course.)

You can sign up for ANY kind of plan with Cingular or T-mobile. You don't have to do prepaid if you don't want to. They will give you the sim card and you put that in your phone and off you go. The sim card is your link to the network & the network records all your activity & keeps track of minutes & so forth...you don't worry about any of it.

If you want to use the interenet and messaging you have to change some settings in the phone to make it connect correctly. Instructions for all of that can be found elsewhere in this forum.
