Sprint Users Who Own this Phone....

I'm new to the PPC/PDA cell phone arena. I've been shopping around and so far the 6600 appears to be the top contender on SprintPCS's menu of cell phone choices. But, a question I have (that no one @ Sprint is able to answer) is: how does Sprint deal w/upgrading the OS that's running on the PPC? Being that Microsoft just released "Windows Mobile 5", I'd like to know if Sprint has a history of making available the ability to upgrade the PPC OS. Or, are you stuck w/that OS until you decide to upgrade the device? For me, it looks like it's a toss up between buying the 6600 now w/the (remote) possibility of being able to upgrade the OS or device itself later. Or, simply waiting for an indefinite amount of time for a Windows Mobile 5 device to be...

They will not support your phone if you attempt an upgrade that is not of thier own.

I'm currently fighting them to swap my phone because of a huge amount of static on my bluetooth devices.

Seems like they are always trying to find excuses to get out of supporting you in my 5 years with them I have had countless service issues. After what seems like pulling teeth I am able to get them resolved...

Assuming you're an owner of the 6600, would you recommend this PPC phone to someone shopping around? Can you elaborate on any Pros & Cons of this device? At this point, I'm completely undecided on whether to purchase a new PPC phone now...or try & wait until a newer device hits the SprintPCS lineup that will run Windows Mobile 5. I like the features of the 6600, with the exception of a few drawbacks or "lack of features" that are rather minor when looking at the "big picture". As far as support from Sprint...I (conversely) haven't had many issues with my handsets over the 5+ yrs I've been a customer. However, my frustration lies with knowing more about their devices, plans, and services than over 90% o...
