Bluetooth functionality in cars

I recently tried (for 10 minutes) this phone in a Lexus with bluetooth in the dash. While it would pair and function to a limited degree, it would not ring (like the v710) and the range indicator states "out of range." With this message, you can only call out using the phone and not the dashboard phone functions.

Anyone else had more luck?
Does this phone have OBEX profiles?
Did the new software fix some of these problems and the phone I tried was perhaps the old software?

Any thoughts would be appreciated . . .

Thanks

I have a V710 and a 6600, neither one will give me full functions with my Lexus. Apparently Lexus has OPP(object push profile) and neither the V710 or the 6600 has that protocol's people at Audiovox have the attitude that they don't make a phone to work with a car kit. Quite frustrating. I believe that some new phones coming out will have opp.
