Sync with MS Outlook- does it work (well enough to bother)

OK, have my new V265. Is as good as advertised in terms of reception- WOW! It's a keeper. Now, do I have to manually enter the 100 numbers from Outlook? If not, can someone tell me in a nutshell what I must buy to do this.

I naiively purchased a datacable, but no device driver. I assumed this would be easily available online. So far, I can not figure out what to do. Seems I must by some software, but there appear to be a few options and I want to hear from someone who has made it work.

Thanks!

The Motorola Mobile Phone Tools Software will allow you to transfer your phone lists and calendar from Outlook to your cell phone. Unfortunately, although it was advertised that you would also be able to transfer pictures and sound files thru the supplied USB data cable, Verizon has blocked that function on the software to force you to use their Get It Now program and therefore pay them to download stuff to your phone.

Thanks Kedemah! I assumed I couldn't do the calendar.. Time to go shopping (again) I guess.

If I have 4 numbers for a person (cell, home, work, fax)- what will it use as the default if I voice dial? Do I need to assign one number for this or ?

You can set a default number, but that's just the number that shows up in your contacts if you have it set to show primary number only (then you scroll left or right to see the others). When voice dialing, the phone asks you "which number" and you can say work, mobile, home, etc.

Follow up for those who might be interested..

Got the Phone Tools Version 3.0. Fifteen minutes later, all my 140 contacts and hundreds of calendar items were smoothly moved from my computer to my phone. WAY more than worth the $45 it cost. I've been doing daily updates for a week, and it is working like a charm.

Still trying to figure out a few minor things, but it's 100% functional.

Can you get the pictures off your camera using the cable and software?

If you are a Verizon customer, then you can't transfer files because Verizon wants more of your money to use their network. If you get a phone from US Cellular or ALLTEL, then they have it unlocked so you can transfer files.
