I'm a verizon dealer, and these phones are starting to come back for return because the button at the top of the screen doesn't get pushed when the phone is closed. The phone doesn't turn off when closed. VERY BAD DESIGN!

I have 3 of them without any problems. This is the only mention of the problem that I have seen. You might just have a bad one.

Obviously not every phone has that problem otherwise we would have heard about it before you saw this problem. Keep in mind that it's a new phone, return yours for a new one, and if it's really a problem I'm sure that Motorola will fix it. Your User Review doesn't say anything about the phone's value other that you happened to be one of the small percentage that got a defective one.

I realize it's a new phone. That's why people haven't reported this defect more. They may not have noticed that their phone stays on even though it's in the closed position. I had a second return today. I think I'm mostly pissed because I have to tell my customers to contact Motorola for the repair, which takes a few days. It makes me look bad and it makes verizon look bad.

I have the phone two days and have experienced the same thing. I also had this problem back when I had the T720. I love the phone otherwise, but this issue has caused me to inadvertenly hang up on multiple calls.

I may have to bring the phone back...I'm clearly within my 15 days. But what to get?

for a 710. CS at my local corp store just nodded when I told them about the issue. I simply asked them which phone has had the least amount of returns, to which they replied, "Well it seems like all of the V265 and the LG 6100 phones have come back, so I would steer clear of the 6100. So far, other than complaints about the camera, everyone seems to love the 710." I personally could care less about the camera. I have a Sony T1 that goes everywhere with me, not to mention my D30 and FZ20 that I take on trips. But they assured me the 710 was one of the most reliable phones they have. I expressed to them how important a reliable phone is to my business, and that I can't be hanging up on callers and dropping them left and right. Again, they assu...
